Hi, I'm Patrick.

I'm a web developer born and raised in North Carolina (The Tar Heel State), currently living in Durham (The Bull City), and working full-time in Raleigh (The City of Oaks). As you can tell, I'm fond of nick names. My passion is programming and designing websites and web applications that are at once both simple and beautiful. When I'm not pecking away at the keys, I enjoy losing my voice at sporting events, burning my attempt at preparing the latest Bon Appetit magazine cover recipe, tripping over tree roots while hiking in the woods, and injuring myself while attempting to master the latest P90X home workout DVD.

I'm currently available for freelance work.

Areas of Expertise

My skillset encompasses the modern web's most reliable, in-demand technologies.

Idea Translation

A key tool in my arsenal is the ability to transform ideas into code, resulting in websites and applications that are as beautiful as they are functional and intuitive. I will work with you to make certain the vision for your brand and its purpose is clearly and elegantly communicated to your audience, resulting in a web presence you can be proud of.

Mobile First

Today's web is accessed via mobile or tablet device more often than by laptop or desktop computer, and customers expect your site's content to be easy to consume across a variety of screen sizes. Starting with the handheld experience in mind, then progressing to traditional larger screens, ensures the most vital content is readily accessible.

Code

My passion for constructing websites and web applications is built on a strong foundation of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Additionally, my knowledge extends to JS frameworks like AngularJS, libraries such as jQuery, popular front-end building blocks like Bootstrap, and powerful content management systems, such as Wordpress.

My Work

Projects I've conceived and built from the ground up.

Triangle Coffee Finder

Triangle Coffee finder is a fun little side project I built to help users find coffee shops in the triangle area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) of North Carolina. Answer a few short questions about what you're looking for and get a top notch recommendation that will probably become your new favorite hangout spot.

NovaDine, Inc.

NovaDine provides digital ordering solutions to regional and national restaurant chains. Offerings include online ordering via mobile app and web browser, featuring patented group ordering technology and curbside check-in for an unmatched customer service experience. I redesigned and rebuild NovaDine's corporate website from the ground up in the fall of 2016, with an unmitigated focus on presenting site content in a simple, elegant package. The result is a website that is both beautiful and enjoyable for the user to consume, with the most pertinent information easily accessible with just a couple of clicks or taps.

All-Times Search

All-Time(s) Search is a project built on Google's AngularJS JavaScript framework, enabling a single page application experience. It utilizes CSS Flexbox and JavaScript's built-in math functions to generate a virtual newspaper feel, generating a layout that is truly unique with each and every keywork search. The New York Times articles API is used to search for and deliver all data, providing results that date all the way back to the daily's beginning on September 18, 1851.
